Activ8 is a collaborative design project that is themed around the use of design activism. It consists of 3 design students (Shaun Bryndzia, Clint Smith, Michael Cusack) studying in our final honors year from Swinburne University, Melbourne, where we as a group intend to utilize our communication medium of design to create a message that has the potential to instigate change in peoples social, cultural values.
Keep a look out on this blog for more updates on our activities and discussions.

wow! gr8 gr8 ideas.
I’m in my final year of Hons Design and was just wading through all the Google images of homeless campaign posters to see what’s already going on out there – Entering a D&AD competition to design a direct mail for Crisis (helping rough sleepers) in the UK.
I got to Page 36 and your iGnorance ipod design came up. Amazing, totally awesome.
It’s great to come across fellow designers with a conscience who see past all the hype, bullshit in the media and want to put a twist on things and not just churn stuff out for the sake of being cool. This is the kinda stuff I want to be doing.
Well, that’s it! Really enjoyed lookin at your designs and will be back in the future without a doubt!

Hello Jodie
Thanks for looking through our blog, and thanks for your comments. Its nice to know there are other like minded designers out there that wish to try and create messages that mean something. Barcoded Nation was mainly a Uni project, but myself and clint would really like to continue the project further to try and turn some heads on some of todays important issues that people seem to ignore or are unaware of.
Good luck and take care
